Ken is still delving into Gil Evans material and this time is presenting “Miles Ahead” as a new arrangement, a transcription modified for local conditions, (Miles Davis wasn’t available!) Other charts include “I’m Coming Virginia” which follows Gil’s “New Bottle, Old Wine ” approach of presenting great early jazz pieces in dressed up orchestral colours.. and much more, including Schroder originals, and pieces by Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Ernie Wilkins.
